A 2019 fire destroyed portions of a Jurupa Valley nature preserve, but now a coalition of Inland Empire agencies has brought the park back to life. Three years after the fire, the 40-acre preserve stands with a new name: the Louis Robidoux Parkland & Pecan Grove. A group of local agencies, known as the Louis Robidoux Parkland & Pecan Grove Consortium, set goals that included rehabilitating the land, renovating the education center and increasing community involvement. The 46 fire burned about 300 acres and destroyed homes, buildings and the education center building at the park, then known as the Louis Robidoux Nature Center.
